Kylie about being a gay icon, from ANANOVA!
Kylie is happy being gay icon in the US Kylie says breaking the American market isn't a huge desire. She says she enjoys having a place in the world to go where most people don't know her. Kylie says she's content being an icon to America's gay community. "I can go back to shopping for panties and bras in Bloomingdale's without worrying about looking fat or silly," she said in an interview with US gay magazine The Advocate. Kylie says she loves strolling through the streets of New York because it's one of the few areas she can go unaccompanied by security and remain largely undetected by the public. "Except for when I'm in an area like Chelsea," she says, referring to one of the city's gay-dominated areas. "Then it can get a little manic. The boys start to go a little wild." Kylie's only major US hits came 13 years ago with The Locomotion and I Should Be So Lucky. A compilation of her latest album Fever and 2000's Light Years is due for release next spring. It comes after the success in the US dance chart of a remixed Butterfly, taken from Light Years. The album will be Kylie's first full-length CD to be released Stateside in more than a decade.

Kylie Minogue and Robbie Williams have been voted the public's ideal Christmas dinner companions.

The songs of Kylie Minogue are to form the basis of a gay musical called 'I Should Be So Lucky'. The show will show run first at Melbourne's Midsummer gay and lesbian festival for three weeks throughout January and February. The story follows a young gay man trying to find love and includes 25 Kylie classics from 'I Should Be So Lucky' to 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head'. The brainchild of director David Knox, the musical is expected to reach British shores after a tour of Australia. Calling the show a tribute to Kylie's 15-year international music career Knox said: "In the same way Mamma Mia is based on Abba, this is based on Kylie."

On the UK charts...
"Can't Get You Out of My Head" is #17 (last week #15) and "Fever" is #18 (last week #13). Sell figures are not in yet... but "Fever" fell in the charts but sold about the same as last week (something like 35,000 copies) and "Can't Get You Out of My Head" sold about 13,000 copies.

According to our predictions "Can't Get You Out of My Head" WILL sell over 1 million copies in the UK.
